No test available for light weight filter driver in win7 64bit

    Question

  • I am testing my light weight filter driver(based on the lwf example) for win7 64bit and 2008 R2.

However, there is no test available for win7 64bit, while there are only two tests for 2008 R2.

    Is this behavior normal?

Can I submit the driver package directly? Or can I add more tests?

I can find my driver both in "device manager" and "software device", now I am choosing "device manager", shall I use "software device" instead?

  • Filter drivers tend to have only a few tests associated with them and possibly no tests at all depending on the OS. Sometimes, the HCK will associate a filter driver with a hardware device so that more (complete) testing is done on the driver.

Does it mean I can submit the driver package for microsoft signature without testing?

Are there anyone has a successful experience?

  • Hello,

Select your driver in "Software Device" and you will find tests there and run it..

  • Hello,

I think You can't submit the your Driver package without running any tests and I think you have to re-check what you are doing correct way or not (Once again go through the help documentation regarding the LWF .)
