I installed the Async CTP v3 clean (no prior Asnyc install) on a Windows 2007 64 bit workstation, with VS 2010 sp1 installed and all updates, including the KB that was mentioned in blog posting: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/lucian/archive/2011/11/01/async-ctp-v3-installation.aspx
My install appears to succeed, however, can get no intellisense for the async keyword on methods, nor do I have the sample files or the entry for Async under All Programs.
On checking my dlls:
CSC.EXE version matches the blog article
VBC.EXE version matches the blog article
MSVBIDE.dll does not match, it is version 10.0.40219.1 which matches with the post VS2010 sp1 install.
and the MyDocuments files are missing.
Reran the the install, and no further progress.
What else can I try, or look at?

Ok, let me answer my own question, and amplify a tip from a prior post:
If your install doesn't go right, you may need to remove the following KB updates:
My thanks to adamgrahamcgi on this thread: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/async/thread/8faf9f46-8ecd-4750-9b9e-9579d784d383
Upon removing those, my install completed, I now have intellisense support for the "async" keyword, and my projects compile.
Reinstalled the KB updates and seems to work ok.
