Where is the licence agreement for WCF Data Services 5.0?

Where can I find the license agreement for WCF Data Services 5.0?

The supposed license link:

goes to the Data Development center.

I found the above link when clicking on License within:

https://nuget.org/packages/Microsoft.Data.Services

Additionally, the URL is mentioned when installing the NuGet package:

I'm trying to work out if there are different license for the development dlls vs the deployment dlls.

For example Microsoft.Data.Services.Design is not available via NuGet, but it is installed via the exe.

The license is the same for the RTM and NuGet assemblies. Thanks for bringing the misdirected link to our attention, we'll get it fixed.

Why is there no section allowing Redistribution in the license agreement for RTM?

How are we supposed to provide the WCF Data Services 5.0 to our customers?

I'm not certain why there isn't an explicit section on redistribution. We have reached out to our legal team to comment on this thread. Can you help us understand what your scenario is and what you hope to be able to achieve with redistribution?

One of the reasons I'm asking for more details is that we're moving to more of a bin-deploy model. I'd like to understand your situation better so we can make a good decision on behalf of our customers. There may not be any changes necessary for our plan, but we may also need to amend the EULA or our deployment model.

We have an installer that installs a website that will hopefully have a dependency on WCF Data Services 5.0/5.1

Our installation must be able to be done without requiring downloading of external components.

 

Note that the Entity Framework 4.3 binaries were are also obtained by NuGet and would be deployed in the same manner.

However the Entity Framework 4.3 license mentions distribution rights.

 

Therefore just adding a distribution rights section to the WCF Data Services license would be sufficient for our requirements.

However it would make things easier if all these NuGet packages referred to a single license (eg MsPL or Apache License 2.0 or other), instead of a different license per package.

For example EF 4.3.0 & EF 4.3.1 refer to different license URLs however the body of the licenses are the same.

Thanks for the details, Arieh - we are currently discussing with legal. I can comment immediately that I see the appeal of the unified license, but not all of the bits are open source so unfortunately that's an impossibility at this point.

Is the plan to fix the licence on 5.0 or on 5.1?

If on 5.1, then when do you expect 5.1 RTM?

You may want to read NuGet and Bin Deploy as it mentioned about EULA change for redistribution.
