Validation best practices

Question

What is a preffered option for ASP.Net MVC (.Net Client) + Data Services + Entity Framework?

And two more specific questions:
1) Can Data Services transfer validation error details information?
2) Is code generated by .Net Client library compatible with MVC validation?
