ODBC Connection to Progress 10.2 DB on OpenVMS
- We have a Progress OE database (version 10.2) on an OpenVMS system (which we will soon be migrating to LINUX) that I am looking to connect to to read data from several tables. I'll be developing in VS2K8.
Am wondering what other's have found to be the best method to accomplish this? Any commentary on the ODBC driver provided on Progress install CD? Or, is there a better way?
TIA - Gary

Hi Gary,
To connect Progress database, except the Progress ODBC driver from Progress Software and .NET Framework Data Provider for ODBC from Microsoft (http://www.connectionstrings.com/progress), another famous provider would be OPENLINK Software’s ODBC drivers for Progress database, http://uda.openlinksw.com/odbc/mt/odbc-progress-mt/ and http://uda.openlinksw.com/odbc/st/odbc-progress-st/.
Since it is a third party database, I recommend you also consult the problem at Progress Software support and community websites:
