Newbie wants to edit xml file. How do I wrap

    Question

  • I have to edit some xml files so I downloaded Microsoft Visual Studio 2005.  When I open the file usung studio 2005 the records in the file open in one long line.  How do I get them to wrap so the edit screen displays the information in the same way as when I just open the file normally using windows?

    Thanks in advance xml

  • Hello,

    We can use Visual Studio XML editor to open your xml file. You can open the "Open" dialog via File->Open->File...

    Choose your file and click Open-> Open With...

    Choose the XML edit and click OK.

    Please note: the above screen cut is from VS2008. I have double checked with VS2005, the walk though are exactly same.

  • tools->options

    then expand the "text editor" to select "XML"

    under settings section you'll find word wrap check box.

    hope that helps
