I am using Internet Explorer 7.

Whenever I open the IE browser, by default this link opens:

C:\Documents and Settings\My User Name\Application Data\datecom\tabwelcome_en.html

To remove it, I went to Tools>Internet Options and set the default page as "Blank".

Now, whenever I open the Internet Explorer, blank page opens. But when open a new tab in the same browser, again this link opens:

C:\Documents and Settings\My User Name\Application Data\datecom\tabwelcome_en.html

I went into the folder "Application Data" and deleted the folder "datecom". But still this links come on the IE browser in new tabs.

How to get rid of it?

I have developed an activex to be run on IE. It open a window with border: none. It was working perfectly but one day I hibernated my computer and when I resumed my computer the window was minimized and I can’t restore that. This issue is reproducible every time on resuming computer from hibernate state.

I've recently read through the Visual Studio 2005 technical article "An Introduction to Programming Outlook 2003 using C#" which was very helpful for a project I'm currently working on.

Given the context of the second example in that paper, how do I determine which email is currently selected by the user of Outlook as opposed to just runing thorugh all of the outlook items?

The example gives the following code:

I used SetupDiEnumDeviceInterfaces() func and I get just one:USBSTOR\DISK&VEN_XXXX&PROD_YYYY&REV_0100\0123456789990

I guess this is understandable since there is only one physical device. However, is there a function that I can use to get both the drive letters?

I used the DEVINTERFACE_VOLUME GUID for the SetupDiEnumDeviceInterfaces() function.

Hi, I've been given a WSS 3.0 pre-installed by an external consultant on an SBS. He assures me that I'm in the system as a WSS admin, although not a network admin. The option to import a list from Excel is missing - can anyone tell me why? Is this an option he skipped during installation?

Migrate off of Project Server

I currently have a medium farm with project server 2007 and MOSS 2007 deployments. I have created some great solutions for Project Workspaces as sharepoint application sites. I use a tool from Team Direction that pushes MS Project data to my Sharepoint application site after it has been created. This is all done under my site collection that is part of my Project Server deployment on my MOSS farm. I would like to stop using project server, but would like to continue to use all of my sites and migrate the project server site to a regular sharepoint site so that I can have my project application site created automoatically and then I can populate my task lists via this team direction tool. Is there a relatively easy way to do this? I suppose any right answer is a good answer..

WSS site is working fine with Windows Authentication. When implementing Form authentication it is giving following error in Log File.

The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. Membership provider/Role provider is implemented correctly and tested with other application. Please find below environment information.

Help me with Annoying Xp pop up window!

Have a little problem here.

A pop up window, pops up and want to shut down the computer unless i typ in the word thats in the middle of the pop up.
It dosent say what kind of security it is. It´s not a windows uppdate thats behind it, cause ive tried restarting the computer and looking thru recent uppdates to understand it.

Theres also a countdown clock that gives me 3 min to reply on the words in the pop up before shutdown. It looks like a kind of spam security thing. Like you have to type in a word when registrating to a mail,forum etc to confirm its not a spam.

The bakground fades and the pop up lights brigthly in the middle. Suggestions? I dont have a clue

It´s really annoying and help to get this pop up gone is welcome

When I run:

Note that this seems different from the regular cases for this error (6553609) seen on the internet (see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/828210) which seem to relate to use of the -u/-pw options. Such options make no useful difference - in fact if I use them I get a different message complaining that I am already authenticated and the error above recurs regardless. I have seen only one other internet reference to a case that matches mine but without a viable solution.

Any clues?

I have a database table, the records in the table are updated periodically (maybe everyday, maybe twice a week), but when the records updated, I need to send an email only to that people listed as a record in the table with his/her contain information.

The table has the information of the people and the email address:

Name Email Short_Message

AA aa@myfirm.com Contact customer

BB bb@myfirm.com Client needs help

So, when the table is updated:

One email will be sent to AA(aa@myfirm.com) with a short message (Contact customer);
One email will be sent to BB(bb@myfirm.com) with a short message (Client XYZ needs help)…..

How can I create a workflow to get this approach? I don’t know how the workflow can be set to read the table from a database, and how to send an email from a record of the table.

W7 taskbar. Seperating icons.

On my old vista I had the quicklaunch bar quite full. I had a seperate icon for my computer, my videos, and my documents. This allowed faster access to other things for me. But, with W7, it all becomes one button. I don't want this. I want seperate buttons for each. I don't want to have to right click and such. So.. how do i do this?

PS. I heard that W7 could have wobbley windows like i've seen linux have. How do i get these?

caching problem with thumbnail images

We need ya help with the ResizedImage control. We added a new feature to support background colour for images. Are you wondering why? Let me explain…say you want a 250x450 image whereas the original image is of dimensions 800x600. The original image will be resized to best fit the 250x450 area, maintaining its aspect ratio. So the new image is only 250x150 . The remaining area needs to be filled with a background colour or else the image would stretch when used with some values for height and width.

For this, we generate a query string like

http://localhost:3253/Thumbnail.aspx?h=100&w=200&src=3.jpg&m=2&bc=DarkGreen

As you know, to achieve a variations of the image, we change the parameters in query string. Ex,

Url for size 400,400:

http://localhost:3253/Thumbnail.aspx?h=400&w=400&src=3.jpg&m=1&bc=Blue

url for size 200,200:

http://localhost:3253/Thumbnail.aspx?h=200&w=200&src=3.jpg&m=3&bc=White

Problem is, browsers don't make the request for the second image. Reason, its caching. Browser is treating both these as same image and n\thus the browser wont issue the request to get the second image.

We are aware of these probable solutions:

Disable caching in thumbnail.aspx
Change thumbnail path to something like /thumbnail/HeightxWidth/image.jpg and use rewriting or
use a handler in place of thumbnail.aspx

I have a requirement where I use Datalist in an ascx user control which is added to a webpart on an aspx page. In the Datalist I bind Image buttons (Products, product image is shown and product id is bound to the accesskey of image button) dynamically. My requirement is when I click the ImageButton, I need to redirect to a Product Page by taking the product id of a clicked image button.

Now the question is how to bind the click event to the Image button in a Datalist and how to redirect to a ProductPage.aspx from this ascx as Response.redirect is not working in ascx page. Please give me some sample code of the events I should declare. Thanks for your help.

data templates for listview

I am creating datatemplates for listview control in xaml and I am using gridviewcolumns inside listview and apply their celltemplate to datatemplates.
The datatemplates are being applied properly if it contains textblock element but if datatemplate has a button element, it is not being displayed. Can anyone please help me on this. My code looks like this:

        </DataTemplate>

Above is the datatemplate I created. And the listview control is as below:

get it working using the "Item.BeforeDelete" event but if the appointment is
a recurrence and you delete one occurence from the recurrence the

get the first 3 - 4 chars from a closed file in VB 05

I need to get the first 3 characters from a file that contains a date identifier. I will then have to convert it to a real date but that isn't a problem as I got that section of the code working already.
For example I need to get A12 from date.cnt and store it in strCurDate. A12 is the only data in the file.

Hello together,

at the moment I am having problems with the enabling of incoming mail in SharePont libraries with WSS 3.0 (SP2).

The SMTP server is installed
I already enabled the general incoming mail settings on "Operations" --> "Incoming e-mail settings", the ldap path is correct (copied from adsiedit.msc)

I receive an "Error in the application" when I want to enable "Incoming e-mail settings" in a library.

The application pool identity of the web application and the central administration is the same. The identity has rights on the OU to create objects. For testing, I added the identity to the domain admin group. Addtional the identity is Secondary Site Collection Administrator and Farm Administrator.

In the WSS log I see the following enty:
System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryServicesCOMException (0x8007200B): The attribute syntax specified to the directory service is invalid. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007200B) at System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryEntry.CommitChanges() at Microsoft.SharePoint.EmailIntegration.SPEWSADManager.CreateContact(String Alias, String FirstName, String LastName, String ForwardingEmail, ContactFlags Flags)SPEWSADManager::CreateContact

I presume it is a rights problem and the WSS can't create the contact, but I think all rights are ok.

I don't know if it matters, but the sharepoint server is a dedicated server in an hmc 3.5 (hosted messaging collaboration) environment.

Here is the problem.

In my project I need to build a application to simulate the Login action and save the Authentication infomation cookies and etc..

The login page is using the ssl encryption. When login succeed, redirect to a http page.

I find a code sinp below:

Unable to enumerate the AD recyclebin

Hi,
because of the lack of a visual interface to the active directory recyclebin (currently ldp and powershell) i was testing to get the deleted objects container to enumerate the recycled objects.
However it does not seem to work as expected.
I connect a DirectoryEntry object to the domain and am able to show all "normal" OU/CN's but not the cn=deleted objects. However LDP shows they are in the root (same user-account).
When i connect to the deleted objects cn like: DirectoryEntry Test = new DirectoryEntry(LDAP://cn=deleted objects,dc=domain,dc=local); the watch on children will show: "there is no such object on the server.\r\n"

In ldp there must be set an control option to get the recycled objects cn to be returned, but i dont seem to be ablet to do so using existing .net code.
Does anyone know how do retrieve the ADrecyclebin object.

The following VB code uses a PCOMM class to send the text "123" to the AS400 User Interface from Word 2003 Standard Edition, but it doesn't work in Word 2002 or Word 2003 Professional Edition. It appears as though Word 2002 and Word 2003 Professional Edition have some issues with COM. Any help would be appreciated.

how to stop refreshing the page when using server control?

Hi,

I am using .Net 2008 , c# asp.net.
The situation i have is this. I have a asp.net page which contains a div control for displaying bing map, one input button name "Draw Circle" for drawing circle of n radius on map, a input textbox where user enters what he want to search on map on a circle, one server button named "search" which had method for searching nearest locations on map.

But what is happening is when i click on search button it refreshes the page because of which the map also refresh and the drawed circle also cleared and textbox also get cleared so when seach method is called there is no parameter which i take from textbox for searching. Is there any way so that the page cann't be refresh ?

I know if we used server controls then everytime it refreshes the page. But than also if there is any way to stop page refreshing than tell me.

i am getting this error in the login page of our application when i click the sign-on button. this happens when the login page is opened and remains idle for more than 30 mins and after that i try to login using different credentials. below is the warning that was logged in event log of hte server at the same time when this error was reported.

no encryption/decryption is used on this page except for encoding and decoding cookies.

Hi All,

My requirement is kind of export to excel funtionality from a search page, where the number of columns and rows will be decided on the creteria selected by user. But the basic design of the excel is fixed..... so I was thinking if it is possible to have ready template in XML/XSD/XSLT/EXCEL or something where all the formatting thing can be predefined and at runtime somehow to repeat the rows and coulmn with their respective cell values (If possible would like to add formulas also).

The data has to be pulled from the database so there is no luxury for me to generate excel direcly from DataGrid. Since the excel will be dynamically generated, immediate reponse is expected.

I am completely new to XML and Excel thing and looking for a sample / article for acehive this in the best way.
