windows media

Question

I have lost the ability to use my cd player on my Toshiba l505d lap top.  It sees my disk but does not play it.  I tried removing the drive and re installing it but that was no help.  I installed VLC media player and that will play the disk but I cannot figure out how to save to my Music File
