I have downloaded the chart controls install file MSChart.exe, but when I run it, I get the following error message:

Microsoft Chart Controls for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 does not apply, or is blocked by another condition on your system. Please click the link below for more details.

Clicking on the link takes me to the Microsoft website, but does not provide any additional information.
I have installed .Net framework 3.5 with SP1 and am using Visual Studio 2008.

Can you give me any clues as to what might be causing this problem?

Following is required to set up Chart Development on your pc :

    1) Install VS 2008 SP1
if already installed, check the version, if not sp1 then set up sp1 on your VS.
    2) Run MSChart.exe
    3) Install Chart Addon if you think is necessary
    4) Run the Chart Documentation exe for getting documentation.
