Locked MS Data Explorer consuming LS's OData end-point error

When trying to create a Mashup using MS's Data Explorer tool I get the following error:

     OData.InvalidServiceUri

The OData service URL points to an unparsable service document. Error: An element with name 'collection' in namespace 'http://www.w3.org/2007/app' was found. A collection element can only contain the {http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom}:title element, the extension elements and the {http://www.w3.org/2007/app}:accept or {http://www.w3.org/2007/app}:categories element.

when trying to connect to [LS Application HostServer]/applicationdata.svc (OData Service)

A link to the  "Data Explorer" Desktop Client is available on http://blogs.msdn.com/b/dataexplorer/

Is the Data Explorer tool in error or the LS OData end-point?

    Thanks, Keith

The good news is I got a reply to a clone of this question the Data Explorer forum.

    "Hello Keith,

Sorry to hear that you are having trouble using Data Explorer in this scenario. The issue that you are hitting is a known issue to us. The root cause is that the version of the OData Library that Data Explorer is currently using cannot read service documents which don't have any whitespaces in them (which is the default for V3 WCF DS Service that Light Switch uses). We are working on updating the version of the OData Library that Data Explorer uses, and this will fix the issue in your scenario.

We still don’t have an exact date for when this fix will be ready, but will update this thread as soon as we have it (as a reference: it may happen by end of May or beginning of June).

    Thanks,
    M."

Interesting but at least we should be able to use this tool with LS soon.

    Keith
