I have just installed Visual Studio 2012 RC (Premium) and am having some issues with publishing.
I can see that there are a few who are having similar issues, but I cannot publish at all. Other than the upgrade when first opening the existing LS project in 2012, it has been working and publishing fine in VS2011 beta. However I am now receiving the following error message.
Error 102 Web deployment task failed. (Could not find the provider 'LightSwitchApplication'. Please verify that you've entered the provider name correctly.) C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v11.0\Web\Microsoft.Web.Publishing.targets 4245 6 FirstArticleInspection
I can build the project and debug it, but publishing will not work.
PS: I have tried both browser and OOB types.

Stevie - do you have the checkbox checked to deploy with the LightSwitch Server Prereqs? If so, try deploying with that unchecked.

Thursday, June 07, 2012 8:39 PMI did have it checked, although un-checking did not immediately solve the issue. For some reason I had to reinstall the Web Deploy on the server. Not sure why as I replaced it with the same version. Either way, working now. Cheers!
