The folks on the .NET Services team have just announced that they're dropping WS-Trust and WS-Federation and instead going with the RESTful security protocol WRAP. What does this mean for identity federation between the cloud and on-premise applications and how will it affect the ability to integrate Geneva authentication and cloud-based .NET Access Control Service authentication, if it will exist at all?

From the .NET Services blog they are only making WS-* temporarily unavailable. They are going to turn support for WS-* back on in future releases.
