Altitude Above GroundHi all,

I refer to the thread titled Altitude http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/ESP/thread/de65fd1c-aa27-45a7-821b-db3358f30185 with enquires regarding the simulation variables Plane Altitude and Plane Alt Above Ground.

What happen to me is that i tried to request for the simulation variable "Plane Alt Above Ground", and for one of the aircraft that i've created on the ground, simconnect returns an altitude of > 5 feets. (I was expecting a zero value since it is on ground).

Is there anything that i could have done wrongly here? Please advise.

Thanks
E.X© 2009 Microsoft Corporation. You'll need to request this information from your 3d modeler who will tell you the exact distance.

Also, keep in mind there's a strut compression factor at play here, so the distance reported will vary depending on compression - that can also be calculated with the strut animation frame if you're given strut compression distance info from your 3d modeler.Fri, 17 Apr 2009 12:08:12 Z2009-04-17T12:08:12Zhttp://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/ESP/thread/c9d3bf27-18d7-4198-9402-4091aae9d4cd#9888989e-68df-4495-924f-0da9943aa073http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/ESP/thread/c9d3bf27-18d7-4198-9402-4091aae9d4cd#9888989e-68df-4495-924f-0da9943aa073Explorer.Xhttp://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=Explorer.XAltitude Above Ground
Simon, LK

Thanks for clear explanation. :)

E.X
Fri, 17 Apr 2009 15:15:35 Z2009-04-17T15:15:35Z
