Prensenting My Idea

Question

My name is Carl and I have an Idea that I am trying to get patented. Once that is done how do I go about presenting the idea to Microsoft? Do I need to get it patented or can I just have the drawing notarized and then present the idea? Also if my idea proves to be useful and I showcase my creative mind,is it possible that I could eventually land a job in a department that deals with new ideas? Thank you in advance for your time.
