Excel sheet output

    Question

  • Hi,

I am posting a .csv file with 5 fields in the body records as input and expecting an output in excel sheet with only two fields .I am doing the mapping and just changed the extension in the send port file configuration to .xls. I am getting the output but it is not coming in different columns. Both the fields are coming in the first column. How can I rectify this?

    Thanks in advance

  • Sure ... First you need to change the file you open using Excel by hand to find what it is you need to change to have Excel handle it like you want to. Secondly you just make sure that's what your mapping and send port outputs. My point is that if you just find the right format for Excel to work, there is always a way of outputting that from BizTalk, either directly in your map or by using a pipeline component but you have to have to know the exact format you wanna output first.

  • This really is a Excel related question, and not BizTalk related. I've however had the same problem and this article helped me.
