Link to network file (within the same domain)

    Question

  • Hi,

    within a page I would like to add a link to a network file. I tried everything, but the file is not opened. The following code is generated:

    <div class="ms-rtestate-field">
    <p>
    <a href="file://server/Software/Amyuni/amyuni4.5/PDF%20Converter/license.pdf">Testlink</a>
    </p></div>

    Trying the same szenario in SharePoint 2010 is working.

    Does anyone have an idea, why SP2013 is preventing this? And is there a possiblity for opening the file somehow?

    Thanks in advance,
    Fidy

  • If you do View source in the browser, what does it say? Then, you'll know if SPS does something to this link or if it's a non-SharePoint issue.

  • It is a SP issue. The obove code is shown when viewing the source.

    You can try on every SP2013 page. In a SP2010 page it's working as expacted - the file is opened. In SharePoint 2013 nothing is happend - no error, no opening - nothing.
