TF252012 -- sharepoint a site could not be verified for the following team project.

    Question

  • We are upgrading TFS 2008 to TFS 2010. The upgrade wizrad returned this warning: "A SharePoint site could not be verified  for the following team project: "blahblah". No SharePoint site could be verified  with the following address http://<Server>/sites/blahblah."

To my knowledge "blablah" was deleted from TFS\SharePoint a few years ago and does not exist in either place now.  Looks like some traces remain as caught by the upgrade wizard.  Any idea how to find the offender appreciated.

    TIA,

    Barkingdog

  • Hi Barkingdog,

    Thanks for your reply.

After you deleted the blahblah team project from your TFS 2008, you need verify that TFSDeleteProject worked correctly, team project and WSS site both delete from your TFS 2008 server, please refer to this document: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd206696(VS.90).aspx#verifying.

And you can open your TFS 2008 database to confirm that, check the tbl_project table under TfsIntegration database, check the SiteMap table under WSS_Config database.

As that’s a warning, if it will not affect go to Next step during your upgrade process, after upgraded completely, you can try to delete this site in your current SharePoint product.

  • Hi Barkingdog,

    Thanks for your post.

Do you mean that the blahblah team project already not existed in your TFS 2010? But that SharePoint site http://<Server>/sites/blahblahstill exist in your SharePoint Server?

If you no longer to use that blahblah team project and that SharePoint site, you can try to remove that SharePoint site from your SharePoint server.

For the TF25012 issue, please refer to the discussions in this post: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-AU/tfsadmin/thread/aa52d5aa-9b5f-4dbb-b105-86661648597b.

  • John,

The "blahblah" project existed at one time on our TFS 2008 server. Then (we thought) we deleted it entirely from that server.. time passes and we now want to upgrade to TFS 2010 but not on the same box. We created a new server added the TFS bits, detached the TFS 2008 databse and attached them to the TFS 2010 server. It was while running the TFS 2010 upgrade wizard (with the reattached TFS 2008 databses) that we got this warning. To my knowledge "blahblah" does not exist as a TFS 2008 project or as a SharePoint wss3 site. But the upgrade wizard apparently disagrees.
