SSRS Open folder window

    Question

  • I have a report which consists of the employee informations and I have a text box for their network drive paths. For instance, MR. White's network drive is M:/White. When he clicks to that text box then the windows explorer should be opened with that path(M:/White). Is it possible to handle this with SSRS?

    Thanks in advance..

  • Hi KAdir,

From the description, I understand that you want to open the folder on network drive in the Windows explorer when clicking the textbox in the report, and each employee should have one corresponding folder. In this case, I suggest to use Action property of the textbox. Please refer to the following steps:

    1. Right click the textbox and select TextBox Properties.
    2. Select Action in the left pane, and check the option of Go to URL.
    3. Add the expression in the Select URL tab as shown below:

             =” M:\” + Fields!Employee.Value

    4. Deploy the report.

    Hope this helps.
