How to make a web browser to access internet based on a specified security connection

    Question

  • Hi guys,

I'm working on a part of a big project. We have client and server, and we have our own security connection for them to communicate. There is a web browser in client side, which is used to access internet just like IE. But the difference is,  the browser can only access the internet though server, and the connection which used from client web browser to server should also based on our own security connection rather than client's internet connection. By default, if u have a web browser control in ur application, it will just use the host machine's own internet connection to access internet. So this is the problem.

I'm still thinking about the solution, it will help a lot if anyone can give some suggestions.

    Regards,

    Kurtis

  • Well without any kernel level fancyness...  The next-hop interface and address are selected solely by a lookup of the destination IP Address in the routing table.  So if the destination machine(s) you are contacting are in a particular address range (or ranges) then add suitable routes directed down the secured interface.

VPN solution do other wierd complex things to handle other situations.
