BizTalk 2010 cumulative update

    Question

  • If I am building a new server with BizTalk 2010 inclusing adapter pack, then should I just install the latest cumulative update.. or install each update one at a time??

I guess there are upto 5 cumulative updates for BizTalk 2010 so far and 2 CUs for adapter pack..Thanks

  • Hi,

A cumulative update is a roll-up update that contains all previous critical on-demand hotfixes to date. You must use the latest cumulative update for the version of  BizTalk Server that you are using.

  • Though it contains all updates so far I've experienced that it doesn't, I recommend and practice the job to install 1 to the latest, it takes some more time, but is a lot more safe. Both BT2009 and 2010 I've seen problem where just the latest  CU were installed.
