How to get the "Not what you wanted?" (alternative) results from Bing REST services

    Question

  • I've been using Bing REST services lately with reasonable success, including getting back multiple locations flagged as "Ambiguous," which is fine.  But when I use the Bing UI, it often comes back with a list of possibilities under the rubric "Not what you wanted?"  But the top spots in this list often ARE EXACTLY what I wanted... but they don't show up at all in the Locations structure returned by REST.  Does anyone know if there's some way to access that collection???  Thanks in advance!

  • I'm assuming you are referring to the functionality that is on the Bing Maps consumer site (http://bing.com/maps). If so it should be noted that that site uses a lot of different services in addition to the Bing Maps REST services and so they have a mix of results from different services and that's what is being displayed.
