How to save maps to My Places

    Question

  • Hi,

I have made a map and would like to save it to My Places.  I have about 10 locations on the map with driving directions.  When I go to my places and make a new list, it says "Your list of places is empty. To add an item from search results, click Save. You can also save pins that you add anywhere on the map."  That's fine, but there is no save button.  Where is the save button?  How to I place a pre-made map into My Places so I can access it later?

    Thanks

  • Routes can't be added routes to My Places. The My Places functionality is like a drawing tool. You open it up, then draw on the map with the options in the panel that opens and then save it. Here is some documentation on this:

  • Thanks for the reply.  Can routes be saved at all for future reference?

    Thanks

  • Thank you for the replies.  I am disappointed that routes cannot be saved.  It is inconvenient to redo them every time I need to make a change as I plan a trip. I can leave the browser open and the Bing page up.  That helps me but if the machine restarts or if the browser crashes I have to re-do it.  I'll look for a better option to plan trips.

  • Since this limitation is with the consumer site of Bing Maps (a Bing maps customer) and not with Bing Maps in itself. I would recommend that you send this information to the Bing Maps consumer site using their feedback button in the bottom left corner of the page.
