SSRS totals by runningtotal

    Question

  • I am displaying the follwing,
    Store Group <Group>
    Store<Group>
    Category Sales
    Chair     $10.00
    Table     $20.00
    Store Total $30.00

    Store<Group>
    Category Sales
    Chair     $8.00
    Table     $16.00
    Store Total $24.00

    Store Group total $54.00

    I want to show the category total for each category as the folllowing,

    Store Group <Group>
    Store<Group>
    Category Sales
    Chair     $10.00
    Table     $20.00
    Store Total $30.00

    Store<Group>
    Category Sales
    Chair     $8.00
    Table     $16.00
    Store Total $24.00
    Store group totals by category
    Chair $18.00
    Table $36.00
    Store Group total $54.00
    Can you please let me know, How to do it?

  • I think you need something like below.

    To Implement right click on Table row then Add Group - > Adjacent Below -> then Add Category in Group by. You will see similar resut below. I did below using SSRS.

  • Hello,

    Another solution is using the Runningvalue() function, please refer to the following steps:
    1. Add two new rows outside the Store group in the report.
    2. Using the following expression to calculate the total values based on catagory:
       =Runningvalue(IIF(fields!Category.value="Chair", Fields!Sales.values, 0.0), SUM, nothing)
       =
    Runningvalue(IIF(fields!Category.value="Table", Fields!Sales.values, 0.0), SUM, nothing)
