Can you please enlighten me as to how to sign SOAP messages from an asmx web service using RSA-SHA1 signing? Which classes are provided by the .NET framework for that? I was checking out SHA1CryptoServiceProvider and RSACryptoServiceProvider, but I
cant figure out how. Could one of my gurus please enlighten me on how to achieve this? Are there any code samples on MSDN or anywhere else on the web showing how to do this?
ASMX is a legacy technology intended only for backwards compatability. It should not be used for new development.
It also has no support for signing XML.
WCF is Web Services. They are not two separate things.
Use WCF for All New Web Service Development, instead of legacy ASMX or obsolete WSE
Use File->New Project to create Web Service Projects
