Emergency Profile Access via API/SDK

    Question

  • Hi,

I'm developing a  HealthVault application with the .NET SDK.

Is there any way i can access the HealthVault user's emergency profile access code in the SDK or API? I would love the ability to retrieve the user's emergency profile url and passcode and send it to my app, so I can create my own custom wallet card.

I saw this post and am looking for more information on the solution, if any.

I know I can run the emergency profile signup via shell but can I retrieve their passcode to display in my app?

    Thanks so much!

  • Hi Vivian,

We do not support 3rd party applications from getting a user's emergency profile access code. Since the code is a possible "secret" we did not want to allow this to be exposed.

  • Thank you for responding.

Thought I would ask since the code is printed on the card the user carries around in their wallet. It seemed pretty public to me.

    Thanks again!
