I'm in process of requirement gathering mode. I have just started with Excel Sheet with Site Collection Names & Basic Structuer. I'm planning to include Lists Names, It's fields and content that we are going to show on home page.
I was just wondering that is there any other good way to do that or Am I missing something??

You have to define what you're gathering requirements for. You just said SharePoint 2010 in the thread title, but then in the body of the thread there was nothing about designing an architecture, taxonomy, permissions model, performance, disaster recovery, etc. So, are you not talking about the entire deployment and are only talking about one piece of it? Which piece(s) are you trying to cover?
