How to skip the Windows welcome screen

    Question

  • Hi,

Could anyone please tell me how to skip the windows welcome screen and also the blue screen. Note that I use a custom shell. Basically what I want is when I boot the XPE, it gets straight into the application, without the windows stuff.

I can load the application. I have selected "Do not display GUI boot screens" but  I also want to skip all the windows welcome screen and the blue screen. Thanks.

    best regards,

    Johan

  • Have you verified that your boot.ini has the /NOGUIBOOT flag set?

    also...

Have you changed the settings in the Windows Logon component appropriately?  (ie: uncheck the show welcome to windows screen option)

  • Yes I have done that,

I think the best thing to do is to modify the registry

    thank you for your help

In the Windows logon (Standard) settings, uncheck the following:

    Show Friendly Winlogon:
Show "Welcome to Windows" screen before Winlogon

add the following registry key to hide the dialog login:

    Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\system\DisableStatusMessages

    Type: REG_DWORD

    Value 1
