    Question

  • Hi

I have a problem with FTP in ssis , lets describe my senario.

i have stand alone server which is hosted sql server (database server) and i have a ftp server which is a member server(it is join to my domain).i give appropriate permission to a test domain user account to ftp site, then i make a package in ssis in 3 step :

    1) Backup Database Task : backup my database on database server to local path on server

    2) Ftp Task : transfer backup file to ftp server with Test Domain user account i describe it above.

    3) Ftp Task : delete back up files.

i execute the package and everything is  ok and all 3 step run successfuly.

then i create a job in sql server agent to run the package and schedule it. i start the job and it done successfuly. i schedule the job to run every 5 min and i wait for a while, i see that in the correct time job execute successfully and backup file transfer to ftp server. the problem is when i log off from the server the job run and take a backup but it couldn t ftp backup file to ftp server . the error log file is :

    Started:  5:30:00 PM
    Finished: 5:30:37 PM

  • I think the ftp username and password are not saved.

Did you save this FTP connection credentials into a package configuration file?

By "EncryptSensitiveWithUserKey" means there are saved together with user key - so any other user running the package will have a problem.

    Hope this helps.

I change the protection Level to "EncryptSensitiveWithPassword" and now everything is ok.

  • Hi,

I think you are using the FTP task for doing the same.

please check the following Matthew's thread where he is doing FTP using Script task.

  • 0xC002918F was thrown because of the credential problem

Check your config file for credential. What is the protection level you are using.

Check the FTP server activeness also.
