  • what exactly big data is? and why does it been introduce in the very first place?? and how could i get to know more about it??

  • This doesn't really belong in the Bing Maps forum but I'll take a crack at answering your questions, here you go:

    Big data is just that, it is data that grows very fast. Take for instance social media data. The number of tweets on twitter per hour is massive. Multiply that by a couple of years and you end up with a database with billions, if not trillions of rows of data. This is considered Big data. From a geospatial point of view we can look at the internet of things where every new electronic device could potential connect to the internet and provide some sort of data, from fitness information from your watch, or the shows you have been watching on TV.
