MDS - Load incremental data into entites

    Question

  • What is best way to load *incremental* data into MDS - entties?  I know i can push data into _leaf tables and then use MDS strored procedures to further insert / merge to appropriate entity. I am looking out to minize this efforts to check if there is anything available already so I don't invest time in developing SSIS packages or store procs. Also almost all of entities have user managed attributes, is there any way data stewards can go, copy paste data into excel sheet which automagically publish it into MDS? does profisee provide this kind of solutions?

did anyone perform cost based analysis on performing data profiling / stewardship (SP integration of MDS) using native MDS versus buying profisee to accomplish these tasks?

  • Thanks David.

let me give some additonal information on my question. Entity A has Name, Code and Entity B. I am looking out a option in excel where i copy three values from another excel sheet / source and then expect MDS / Excel to create new member in Entiry B  and then create new member in Entity A and referece member which was added in B. while process is creating new member in B should be smart enough to idntify that this memebr is not already exists.

    is this feasible?
