how to set SSRS URL when there's multi level of folder

    Question

  • I'm trying to set the path of the SSRS (SQL2008 R2) in the ASP.NET config file.
There are a lot of reports of different applications in the same report server, so I had to put them in different folders.
    The path is 'http://server/ReportServer/Development/App_Name/Report.rdl'.

But I got the below error message.

Client found response content type of '', but expected 'text/xml'. The request failed with an empty response.

I also tried http://server/ReportServer?/Development/App_Name/Report.rdl' or http://server/ReportServer?%2fDevelopment/App_Name/Report.rdl' but i still got the same error.

I'm still new to SSRS, please help.

  • Hi Engloon,

From your description, you want to use the report URL in your applications, right? If in this case, you can get the URL by the steps below.

    1. Start>All Programs>Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2>Configuration Tool>Reporting Services Configuration Manager
    2. Type the server name and click Connect>Web Service URL>click the URLs to open the report server.
    3. Open the corresponding report and copy the URL in the Address bar and paste it on your application.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
