Is there a Windows 7 compatible Device Emulator yet?

    Question

  • Just downloaded and installed the windows mobile 6.5 Developers Kit on a Windows 7 box running 64 bit and hoping to develop phone apps using my already installed Visual Studio 2010, but after clicking the Emulator I am getting the error message:

There are not seven pairs of XPVCOM in system.

    What to do?

    Thanks.

PS - I've read the other much-older "no solution" entries but surely by now (years later) there is a patch to get the Emulator to work w/ Windows 7, no?

  • The Device Emulator works as expected under Windows 7 x64.

You're talking about the Cellular Emulator - Nothing has changed here: this is still not supported on x64.

  • Don't think VS 2010 is ready for the Mobile sdk yet....
    Use VS 2008...
