[NAME] {CODE} order different in Web UI vs Excel Addin

    Question

  • Hello,

    When I set the [NAME] [CODE] display order for a constrained list attribute in the WEB UI, it displays correctly, but I can't get it to synch in the Excel Addin???

    WEB = {NAME}, {CODE}

    EXCEL = {CODE}, {NAME}

    I know it seems trivial, but I'd like the displays (Web + Excel)  to match up --

    Thanks,

    Jim

  • The Excel add-in does not provide this option / feature. Perhaps this will be enhanced in a future release. The MDS Web UI and Profisee's Master Data Maestro provide this feature.

  • A stupid answer on my part I know :).

    But If Code=Name your problem is solved, underneath the Code is not really a Key anyway.. (Yes where name is some long string its not going to work but many times I see tables like IL Illinois,   CO Colorado ... Well if instead of IL one used Illinois in the key to start with

    No hate replies please, just a thought that could work maybe 5% of the time.
