Who can view the membership of the group?

    Question

  • Hello All,

We have a strange requirement from the business unit. They don't want anyone to be able to view the membership of the SharePoint group, even if they are in the same group.

To elaborate more, if go to People and Groups > Change Group Settings we will see we have the option:

Who can view the membership of the group?  and we have two options, either: Group Members or Everyone

we don't want either options. Is that even possible??

    Thanks,

    Yassar

  • You could set the owner to be a service account that they lack access to.

  • Yassar,

This is not possible through UI, code or PowerShell script as this is a boolean property internally and we can set only true or false.
