How to pull the SQL Server standard reports into a SSRS report

    Question

  • New to SSRS but what I want to do is to pull the standard reports from hundreds of SQL Servers into a SSRS report and email the results to various concerned parties.  Is this doable?  If so then how difficult and where would I start.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Each server would have its own contacts and I would want to send the report to a different set of developers for each server.  Top 10 queries for cpu and disk io for example.

Is there an easier way of doing this outside of SSRS?  I would want to do it from a single server.

  • Ok, I see, then locate that report under BIDS solution and redeploy it to the SSRS server

    They are all under foler

    C:\Documents and Settings\<your user>\My Documents\SQL Server Management Studio\Custom Reports

you can just modify those *.rdl files and upload them.

  • Hi jay62,

The standard reports are created by Microsoft and may be modified by using Business Intelligence Development Studio. Please click the link to download the standard reports:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sqlrem/archive/2006/08/30/ssms-reports-3.aspx
There is an article about SQL Server Management Studio Standard Reports – The Full List, please see:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/buckwoody/archive/2008/04/17/sql-server-management-studio-standard-reports-the-full-list.aspx

Based on your requirement, please refer to the following steps to achieve this:
    1. Create a Reporting Services project by using Business Intelligence Development Studio(BIDS)
    2. Right-click on the Reports folder and select add an existing report. Navigate to the reports that you have downloaded in the above link.
    3. Deploy the reports to the Report Server.
    4.  Create the E-mail subscriptions for the reports.

For more information about How to: Subscribe to a Report (Report Manager), please see:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms157386.aspx

    Thanks,
