  • Don't give access rights to the users. SSRS is a first class citizin in TFS and cannot be removed from the UI.

  • My users can not access to Reporting now. Actually it is a problem really.

May be you know how I can grant rights to users to access to Reporting Services?

  • You can do that in the report portal or you can make use of the TFS admin tool (www.codeplex.com/tfsadmin)

  • Ok. I use tfsadmin, assign my AD-account with content manager role in RS.
But when I try to create new TFS project, I receive following error:
    Error
TF30004: The New Team Project Wizard encountered an unexpected error while initializing the Microsoft.ProjectCreationWizard.Reporting plug-in.
    Explanation
TF30171: The Microsoft.ProjectCreationWizard.Reporting plug-in used to create the new team project could not be initialized and returned the following error: TF30224: Failed to retrieve projects from the report server. Please check that the SQL Server Reporting Services Web and Windows services are running and you have sufficient privileges for creating a project..

  • Install the power tools (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/teamsystem/bb980963.aspx) and then run the best practice analyzer.

It might gives you insight in your problems

  • Ok. I has received three errors:

    1) The Web service call "UserGroup.GetUserCollectionFromSite" at http://tfs:17012/_vti_bin/usergroup.asmx failed. Error message: "The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized."
    2) The Web service call "SharePointProductsandTechnologies Sites.GetSiteTemplate" at _vti_bin/Sites.asmx failed. Error message: "The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized."
    3) The Web service call "SharePointProductsandTechnologies Sites.GetSiteTemplate" at _vti_bin/Sites.asmx failed. Error message: "The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized."

It is very strange. I can do logon into sharepoint, but analyzer show to me that it is impossible.

Also, I not see errors about RS.

Is you have any ideas about that?

  • Hi Sergey

Could you describe the issue with more details? In the title and the first post, it seems you want to disable the Reporting Service. In the subsequent posts, it seems you meet issues when create a team project. I don't fully understand the scenario.
