Issue with Sync framework while Syncing databases

    Question

  • Hi,

we are using microsoft sync framework 2.1 for syncing Databases.

we provision the server and client after which we do the sync process.

    Issue1:

Do we need to provision client and server every time before sync or Is it we only need to provision once and can sync again and again.

    Issue2:

we tried syncing after provision server and client.

To test sync again we deleted some records from local db and tried to sync ,then sync is done but with no changes (Donloaded/uploaded changes are zero) .If I reprovision the client nad server then changes are applied.

Am I doing any mistake. please need urgent info/help in this regards.

    Regards

    Krishna

  • 1- you only need to provision once. provisioning is creating sync objects to allow changes tracking, apply changes and record what has been synched.

2- you can enable sync fx tracing to see what's happening or subscribe to ApplyChangeFailed event to see if there are issues applying changes
