ARM9 based Development boards for WinCE ?

    Question

  • Hi friends, I am new to here so apologize if this thread is posted at a wrong place
I am a student in a college, for an experimental project we shall need an ARM9 based development kit, with the SDRAM of at least 64M, ethernet, audio and LCD connection. Better would it be if there would be enough memory to run embedded WinCE OS. I have been looking around for a long time and found nothing exactly meets my requirement. Since you guys have much more experiences in this area than me, would you plz recommend one to me? thanks a lot

have found one kit named AT2440 yesterday at http://www.developmentboard.net. I think it would be perfect for me. The board is nice, it meets all of my requiremenst, and contains all the necessary accessaries. And what attracts me the most is the price, development kits from China are really cheap, maybe you guys should try this http://www.developmentboard.net next time when you need some boards. -

  • This forum is for Windows XP Embedded not Windows CE.

In any case, you might want to call EMAC, INC - http://www.emacinc.com. They might have a board that you are looking for - the iPac9302 is close, but no LCD. They might have a 9307 or 9315 that might address what you are looking for.

  • So what r the advantages of Windows XP Embedded compared to WinCE?
Can I use it on my AT2440 machine?

  • Check out the "Which Embedded Product is Right for Me?" web page for more details on Windows Embedded Standard (or XP Embedded)  and WinCE (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/embedded/products/whichproduct/default.mspx).

Essentially, WES is targeted for reduced footprint single purpose PC computers.  Also, WES is only available for x86 CPUs, so no it would not work with the ARM-based AT2440.
