StreamInsight- How does the client get the data from the StreamInsight server.

    Question

  • I study the msdn examples and I have some questions.

The example demonstrates how to create a server and deploy the sources and sinks on the server.

Others examples demonstrate how StreamInsight clients use entities on the server.

But all the output results in on the server that means the clients do not really get the data from the server.

Is there any way to get the data from the sink?

Do I need to implement these communication by myself like sockets between StreamInsight server and clients?

  • Yes, you will need to implement a sink that will connect StreamInsight and clients. You can do it with something low-level like sockets or you could do some kind of WCF pub-sub depending on your event throughput and tolerance for latency.
