SQL 2012 BI Setup - Unable to load rule class 'ASSPIExistingFarmUnconfiguredWarningCheck'

  • Hey,

    Does anybody know how to get past this error in SQL 2012 BI with SP1 Setup?

    TITLE: SQL Server Setup failure.------------------------------

    SQL Server Setup has encountered the following error:

    Unable to load rule class 'ASSPIExistingFarmUnconfiguredWarningCheck'

    Error code 0x84BE0004.

    Could you please try to download the media again, copy the media to the disk drive, uncompress the ISO and run setup from there?

  • Hi Michele,

    To troubleshoot an Installation of SQL 2012 BI issue, we need to refer to the Setup Log Files. You can post more details about errors from details.txt and Summary.txt.

    About the issue of ASSPIExistingFarmUnconfiguredWarningCheck , there are some suggestions for troubleshooting.
    1.Check whether the SharePoint is configured on the server.  
    2.We can use the setup wizard to repair the corrupt installation.

  • I would second Alberto's suggestion decompress the media and run from local drive to decompress the package run

    <package.exe> /x

    from command prompt.

    I downloaded the iso again and setup worked fine. Dont you just love corrupted install media :)
