oAuth for Twitter search API 1.1

    Question

  • Hi Miguel

I'm trying to follow your oAuth instructions for a Twitter search (API 1.1) without any success.

    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsazure/en-US/3b4fe327-0dfb-457c-af2d-7e5459c291ea/oauth

When you say "you can sign in", do you mean in Excel go to Data Explorer / Data Source Settings / Edit Credential / Basic ?

Or should I log on to their website using IE?

    I don't follow.

Also what do you mean by "the OAuth token"? Where will it be "stored in your machine"?

I have created an account and an application on dev.twitter.com. It seems to suggest I should use a "Consumer key" or "Consumer secret"? Where would I use those for Excel Data Explorer? I tried both in the Credentials / Web API / Key field - I got the error "The credentials provided are invalid"

Apologies for all the questions I am a SQL/reporting guy, not a web dev.

    Thanks

    Mike
