  • Hi Aluvala,

Based on the current description, I understand that you would like to change the error message to custom message. The issue relates to Render Extension. Currently, the behavior which changes the error message to custom message is not supported. Therefore, I would suggest you submitting a wish at https://connect.microsoft.com/sql. Connect site is a connection point between you and Microsoft, and ultimately the larger community. Your feedback enables Microsoft to make software and services the best that they can be, and you can learn about and contribute to exciting projects.

If you still want to make custom render message, you can try to create custom render extension while it is not easy.

    Hope this helps.

  • There are a number of timeouts in SSRS; session timeout, report execution timeouts, http request timeouts.  A session timeout in SSRS is not the same as a session timeout in ASP.NET.  I don't have the answer to your question, but i do have some articles that can help you understand the timeouts and hopefully lead you down the path of discovery.

This articles is a good article as it discusses the session timeout and the keep alive that is sent from the report viewer, which is likely why you are not seeing the session you are looking for to timeout.

This article is good as well in describing some of the timeouts.

I understand there are ways to handle the keep alive and other timeouts you are looking for.

  • I have never changed the error messages, but i think the best thing you could do is open new inquery in the forums as it might attract the proper audience.  I am glad you were able to figure out your issue.  You should definately share what exactly you changed so it might help others.
