saving html web resource ends up edited -- won't save what I'm pasting

    Question

  • Whether I paste it into the text editor source or load it from file, my html web resource changes upon saving.  I'd like to say it's just truncating, but it is smartly removing script elements and all of the stuff between the body tags.  Here's what remains from 9k of file:

    <html><head><script language="javascript" src="https://ecn.dev.virtualearth.net/mapcontrol/v7.0/7.0.2013070980400.88/js/en-us/veapidelay.js" type="text/javascript"></script><meta charset="utf-8"></head><body></body></html>

Again, notice the closing body and html tags; i.e. the last character remains.

    What gives?

  • I saw this behavior sometimes, probably is a bug in some rollup versions.
However to be sure that your Web Resource doesn't get edited, instead paste the html code using the built-in editor you need to upload the file.

  • Yes, I've decided the only way to keep it whole is to import, save and publish.  It appears that you absolutely cannot open the UI text editor on an html file.  I'll be deploying from Visual Studio henceforth.

PS- this is Live/On-line so assumedly very current version.
