Hi,
I have created an ordered Tests and I have associated the ordered for Test case in Test Manager. When I am trying to run the Ordered Test from Test Manager, I am getting an "Error Message: Cannot find the test 'CodedUITest' with storage '..\bin\debug\ProjectName.dll'."
I am able to run the coded UI Tests from Test Manager 2010. But I am not able to run the Ordered Test from Test Manager.
Is anyone have the possible solution for this issue?
Thanks, Manikandan

Hi Manikandan,
Thank you for your post.
According to your description of the issue, I suppose you create a ordered test, then associate it with a test case in MTM, when run the test you experience the error. If I have misunderstood anything, please free feel to let me know.
Would you please check the build setting. Build drop location should contains the ordered test and the dll contains the CUIT.
Is there any detail log?
Best regards,

Sorry for the late response. Still this issue is not getting resolved. I have verified the build drop location. It contains the Ordered test. But I am not sure the dll contains the CUIT.
Can anyone guide me, what exactly I need to do for running the ordered test from Test Manager?
Thanks, Manikandan

I am not able to open the dll file. Which option I need to choose for "Open With"?
Thanks, Manikandan

Mittwoch, 4. April 2012 20:33You don't need to open the Coded UI Test DLL. You just need to verify that it is being placed in your drop folder.

Yes. The DLL file is in drop folder. But the Coded UI Test is not copied into the Drop folder. It copies only the Test data sheet. I have set "Copy Always" option for "Copy to Output Directory" for all my coded UI tests. But it is not copying the coded ui tests into the Drop Folder. How to copy the Coded UI Tests into the Drop folder? Which option I need to change for my Build definition?
Thanks, Manikandan

Hi, the coded ui test wont be a seperate file. It is a method in your test project dll.

Could you specify the contents of your drop folder currently? Also, the contents of the bin/Debug folder of your coded ui test project.
Thanks

Hi,
I have the Test data sheets, all Ordered Tests, all LoadTests, all web tests, Projectname.DLL, ProjectName.PDB, LoadTestFramework DLL, WebTestFramework DLL and obj folder.
Please let me know if I am missing any other files?
bin/Debug is not copied into the drop folder. I have set the property "Copy to Output Directory" as "Copy always" for the bin/Debug/ProjectName.DLL file.
Thanks, Manikandan

Hi ,
I have created a orderList and i am running it with MTM.
Please check again these steps:
after create order list first you must Check in it in TFS.
then you must create a team build that contains test project.
when this build is created you can run this test with MTM.

I got the solution for this issue.
If we create the Ordered Tests under the Project, we can execute the ordered tests from MTM. If you create the ordered test within any folders, them it throws the error.
So always create the Ordered Tests under the Project not within fhe folder.

Manikandan
