Installing SQL Server 2012 Express - managed sql server installer error

Question

When trying to install SQL Server 2012 Express, Error Appears:

"managed sql server installer has stopped working"

No further message is showing.

I have just done that. Renamed the folder, and got the same error. Then I noticed that the .NET 2.x Gen service was disabled, I enabled it, but still got the same message and the same log.

I tried the following steps:

2.      Locate files setup100.exe.config, landingpage.exe.config, fixsqlregistrykey_<relevant_processor>.exe.config

3.      Edit each of them, and remove line: <supportedRuntime version="v4.0"/>

But still, the error.

I've got the same Problem here - is still no solution available?

Edit: my Problem was a damaged OS. I repaired my Win8 Installation and everything is working now.

Can you try deleting temp files then restart setup?

Also can you try to decompress express package to local drive then run setup locally ?

to decompress express package run

<package.exe> /X
