I have a server 2003 32 bit running terminal services and access 2003 with several databases that were created long ago by an outside programmer.  Friday I got a virus that has been removed and with many registry entries and dll registrations thing are almost normal on that box except when i open access and try to open a database i get runtime error 2448 cant assign value to the object.  The same database opens ok from other installations of access so something is corrupt with the access 2003 install... I do not use access much so i just install... Also it looks like this was a owc2011?? install that says 2003??

in event viewer it says Microsoft Office 2011

    Faulting application msaccess.exe version 11.0.5614.0,

    Faulting module msaccess.exe version 11.0.5614.0

    stamp 3f3c8e3c fault address 0x000ef3ba

    Thanks!!!!!

I guarantee you it does not say "Microsoft Office 2011", unless you are on a Mac.

    Version 11 is Office 2003.

"so something is corrupt with the access 2003 install": I would not jump to that conclusion: for example there could be a missing reference.

But of course since you hacked around in the registry, who knows what was affected, so at the very least you need to uninstall and reinstall Office 2003.

    Thanks Tom!

I found the version is access 2003 (11.5614.5606)

Part of office pro edition 2003

I see now that the Office11 came from Office 2003 web componants.. I am having that do a repair but don't think that is the problem..

Unfortunatly I don't have the original disks to reinstall :(

Most of the registry hacks were from Symantec to reregister things the virus blocked from being launched.
