programming a PDA

Question

i m a novice in the PDA world.. yet i want to explore it. i have a task at hand which needs to be accomplished using a PDA device. i want to make a restaurant application for a PDA which provides menu,takes orders, pass it on to the main pda in the kitchen, reviews bills. i have no idea which pda to use, which OS to consider and in which language to develop the code and how to load it in the PDA..hence i require help in this regard.i would be highly obliged if i get any tutorial, tips or website for the same...thank u in advance..

thank u sir for replying. sir, i am not able to find what pdas are available, coz wherever i have checked,the retailers have said they dont sell it anymore. i am unsure from where to buy it...can u please suggest me an emulator for a PDA equipped with networking, wifi/bluetooth or lan connectivity APIs? thank you
