Could not load type

Question

I started getting the error:

Could not load type 'Microsoft.TeamFoundation.WorkItemTracking.Client.WorkItemTypeDeniedOrNotExistException' from assembly 'Microsoft.WorkItemTracking.Client, Version=9.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a'

I saw back in 2008 some others had the same problem and they were directed to this forum. Any solutions yet?

Hi Kevin,

You may want to try install/re-install Visual Studio 2008 SP1 to get this problem solved.

There were similar cases that got resolved by re-installing VS 2008 SP1, like this one for your reference:

Unbeknownest to me I was using a Beta copy of Document Explorer. Once I removed that reinstalled the Team Explorer and SP1 everything seems to work now. No error. It would have been nice instead of saying that the installation completed successfully if the installation at least gave me an idea or warning. The installation process takes long enough you would think it has time to gather this kind of data. Anyway it is fixed now.
