I am relatively new to programming in windows. I come from a unix environment, we used Perforce for source control.  I'm now in a new shop, and the sole developer, I'd like to stick with MS products but having some difficulty.

I'm using vs2010, and the latest version of team foundation. I have 3 MFC/c++ projects in one solution. They have their own specific code but I have a directory for the common code.

Can you give me the basic steps that I need to do to get my source into version control.  I've seen the MS techical pages, that cover everything in detail, but it's all very overwelming and very difficult to just get the basic stuff.

    Thanks in advance.

    Great resource!

    Hi M,

Thanks for the videos.  I watched them as well as some others on the same page.  All good info. You're right I have to practice and ask more specific questions, which I will do.

Dydek,  Thanks for the book reference. I've looked for it, unfortunately the book stores in Calgary don't stock it. I'm going to order it online.

    John, Thanks for following up.

These days, I prefer an electronic version ...  You can get it straight from WROX I believe. A whopping 130MB of PDF content ... Works well on iPad.
