Answered Service Broker and SQL Mail

    HI NG

Not sure if this is the correct place for my question.

Out of the blue, my SQL Database Mail has stopped working.  Mails are queued, but never sent.

If I manually browse to and run the DatabaseMail.exe, the mails get sent.  My understanding is that the Service Broker is responsible for launching the DatabaseMail.exe to process the mails.

How can I check if the Service Broker is enabled/broken ?

    Regards

    Thanks Stephanie

    The article indicates:

Check the sysmail_event_log view for activity. The view should contain an entry stating that the Database Mail external program has been started. If there is no entry in the sysmail_event_log view, see the symptom Messages Queued, No Entries in sysmail_event_log.

I am unable to decipher where to find this symptom:  "see the symptom Messages Queued, No Entries in sysmail_event_log"

It also does not answer my original question: "How can I check if the Service Broker is enabled/broken ?"

That said, the issue has been resolved.  It was due to a conflict in the server's Host file.
